Prof. Huiyu Zhou

School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester

Biography: Prof. Huiyu Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, supervised by Professors Patrick Green (Psychology) and Andrew Wallace (Computer Engineering).Prof. Zhou heads the AI and Applications Group and leads the Biomedical Image Processing Lab (BIPL) at University of Leicester. He was Director of MSc Programme (2018-2019) and Coordinator of MSc Distance Learning at Informatics (2018-2022), and is PGR Director and Deputy Director of Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Modelling (AIDAM). Prior to this appointment, he worked as Reader (2018-2020) at University of Leicester, and Lecturer (2012-2017) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University Belfast (QUB). He was a visiting scholar of QUB during 2018-2020.Prof. Zhou has published widely in the field. He was the recipient of "CVIU 2012 Most Cited Paper Award", "MIUA2020 Best Paper Award", "ICPRAM 2016 Best Paper Award in the Area of Applications" and was shortlisted for "ICPRAM 2017 Best Student Paper Award" and "MBEC 2006 Nightingale Prize". He serves as:

Prof. Mohamad Sawan

Westlake University

Biography: Mohamad Sawan is Chair Professor in Westlake University, Hangzhou, China, and Emeritus Professor in Polytechnique Montreal, Canada. He is the founder and director of the Center of Excellence in Biomedical Research on Advances-on-Chips Neurotechnologies (CenBRAIN Neurotech) in Westlake University, Hangzhou, China, and of the Polystim Neurotech Lab in Polytechnique Montreal. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. He is Co-Founder, Associate Editor and was Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems (2016-2019). He is the founder of the flagship IEEE International NEWCAS conference and co-founder of the International IEEE-BioCAS and IEEE-AICAS Conferences. He was General Chair hosting both the 2016 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) and the 2020 IEEE International Medicine, Biology and Engineering Conference (EMBC). He was awarded the Canada Research Chair in Smart Medical Devices (2001-2015), and was leading the Microsystems Strategic Alliance of Quebec (ReSMiQ), Canada (1999-2018). Dr. Sawan published more than 1000 peer-reviewed papers, one Handbook, three books, 13 book chapters, and 12 patents, and 20 other patents are pending. He received several awards, among them the most prestigious and first Polytechnique Montreal Research and Innovation Award, the J.A. Bombardier and Jacques-Rousseau Awards from the ACFAS, the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, the Medal of Merit from the President of Lebanon, the Barbara Turnbull Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Shanghai International Collaboration Award, the Zhejiang Westlake Friendship Award, and the Qianjiang Friendship Ambassador Award. Dr. Sawan is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Engineering Institutes of Canada, a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), and an “Officer” of the National Order of Quebec.

Assoc. Prof. Lingyun Song

Northwestern Polytechnical University

Biography: Song Lingyun is a associate professor at the Key Laboratory of Big Data Management and Storage Industry and Information Technology, School of Computer Science, Northwestern Polytechnical University. He majored in Computer Science and technology and received his Doctor degree from Xi 'an Jiaotong University. During 2017-2018, he is a visiting scholar at UCSB, University of California, USA. Now he is an executive member of CCF Multimedia Technology Committee, CCF Information System Committee, CSIG Visual Big Data Expert Committee and other committees. He is a reviewer of top journals in the field of artificial intelligence such as TIP, TPAMI, TMM, and a young editorial board member and special invited editorial board member of journals such as FCS and WWW journal. His research interests include cross-media cognition and reasoning and computer vision.

Assoc. Prof. Gahangir Hossain

University of North Texas, USA

Biography: Gahangir Hossain (M’10) received the bachelor's degree in electronics and computer science from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh, in 2000, and the Master's degree in computer science and engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2008. He received a graduate certification in cognitive science and software testing, in 2011, a second master's degree in electrical and computer engineering, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering, in 2014, all from the University of Memphis, Memphis, TN, USA, where he was trained in interdisciplinary research on cognitive systems engineering.,He has currently been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Texas A&M University, Kingsville, TX, USA, since August 2015. He worked as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Indianapolis, Indiana from 2014 to 2015. He served as an Assistant Professor (promoted from lecturer) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh from 2001 to 2008. His interdisciplinary research includes: artificial intelligence &and machine learning, cognitive vision, cyber physical systems, human–computer interaction, behavioral biosignal processing, and brain and cognitive sciences.

Prof. Jingshan Huang

University of South Alabama

Biography: He is a Professor at the Biomedical Informatics Group, which is situated within the School of Computing at the University of South Alabama (South). Additionally, he holds the position of Professor in South College of Medicine. In May 2007, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of South Carolina, under the guidance of Dr. Michael N. Huhns.His research interests encompass Data Science and Computational Life Science more broadly, with a specific focus on the semantics and analysis of data, as well as their novel applications in the realms of human genomics and transcriptomics.

Assoc. Prof. Yongtian Wang

Northwestern Polytechnical University

Biography: He is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He earned dual master's degrees in Computer Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology and the University of Pavia, Italy, and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Harbin Institute of Technology. Dr. Wang's research interests include bioinformatics, data mining, artificial intelligence, and the design of drugs and vaccines. He currently chairs the IEEE BIBM BiOK Conference and serves as a guest editor for internationally recognized journals such as BMC Genomics and Applied Sciences. A member of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology and the China Computer Federation, Dr. Wang actively contributes to his fields through participation in numerous national and international academic conferences. His research is supported by grants from prestigious institutions like the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People´s Republic of China.
